Troubleshooting

Most problems with ReplayDoc fall into a few buckets. This page walks through what to do when something looks off.

My extraction is stuck on "processing"

ReplayDoc auto-fails any flow that's been processing for more than 30 minutes. If you're under that, give it another minute or two: longer videos take longer to process.

If the flow has been "processing" for 30+ minutes:

  1. The status will flip to failed automatically.
  2. You'll see the error message on the flow detail page.
  3. Re-upload the video. The original failed extraction did not count against your minutes.

Most timeouts come from one of:

  • Video file is corrupted. Try re-exporting from your screen recorder.
  • Temporary AI backend hiccup. Wait a few minutes and retry.

My upload won't process

ReplayDoc accepts any file with a video/* MIME type (MP4, MOV, WebM, and most other common formats).

If your upload is rejected before processing starts:

  • Video is over 30 minutes long. ReplayDoc has a hard 30-minute cap per video. Split longer recordings into multiple uploads.
  • Not enough minutes left. The video's duration would push you over your monthly cap. Check the billing page.
  • File isn't a video. Check the file extension and re-export.
  • Network drop mid-upload. Try again on a stable connection.

My screenshots are blurry or low-quality

ReplayDoc captures frames from your video at the exact moments where steps occur. Quality of the screenshots matches quality of the recording.

  • Recording resolution. Record at 1920×1080 or higher. Anything lower and screenshots will look soft.
  • Browser zoom. Default zoom (100%). Smaller zoom levels mean smaller text in the captured frame.
  • Video bitrate. Most screen recorders default to a low bitrate to keep file size down. Push it to "high quality" in your recorder settings.

You can also swap any screenshot manually after extraction. Click the image, pick "Replace with file" or "Replace from library", and upload a clean shot.

Some steps are missing from my flow

ReplayDoc extracts a step every time something meaningful happens on screen. If steps are missing, it's usually because the AI couldn't identify a clear action.

To get cleaner extractions:

  • Move your cursor deliberately. ReplayDoc uses cursor position to identify click targets. Hover over the button before clicking.
  • Pause briefly on each result screen. Let the new state render fully (about 1 second) before moving on. The AI captures a frame at the result moment, so the frame needs to show the result.
  • Don't move too fast. If two clicks happen in under a second, the AI might merge them into one step.

If a step you wanted is missing, the easiest fix is to add it manually: click "Add step" in the flow editor, write the description, and upload a screenshot.

Step text is wrong

The AI's first draft is a starting point, not the final copy. Edit it directly:

  • Click any step title to rename it.
  • Click any description to rewrite it.
  • Click "Save" to commit the change.

Edits don't cost minutes. They're free and immediate.

Don't re-upload to fix step text. A re-upload counts as a fresh extraction and bills another set of minutes.

"Processing failed" with an error message

The error message comes directly from the AI backend. Common ones:

  • "Processing timed out": extraction took longer than 30 minutes. Try a shorter video.
  • "usage_limit_reached": you don't have enough minutes left for this video. Upgrade your plan or wait for the next billing cycle.
  • Other messages: usually a one-off backend hiccup. Wait a couple minutes and retry.

If you see the same error twice on the same video, file a Bug Report from the Help page in your hub. Attach the video file and the error text. We triage these daily.

My Google login isn't working

If you signed up with email and want to log in with Google (or vice versa) using the same email address, the accounts link automatically. You'll see your existing flows on first login.

If Google sign-in fails:

  • Make sure you're using the same Google account each time.
  • Clear your browser cookies for replaydoc.com and try again.
  • Check that pop-ups aren't blocked.

Still stuck?

  • Bug Report form in the hub Help page. Attach a screenshot or video; we triage these daily.
  • Not signed in? Use the contact form on the homepage.
